Race for Champions League

Nottingham Forest continue their push for Champions League football.

Nottingham Forest produced a fantastic win last night away to Spurs to continue their push for a top 4 finish and put even more pressure on Tottenham and Ange Postecoglou. 3 points now separate Forest, Newcastle, Man City, Chelsea and Aston Villa with 5 games remaining.

With 5 teams now being able to qualify for next seasons Champions League it’s looking more likely each week that Nottingham Forest are going to grab one of them spots. A fantastic first 15 minutes for Forest going 2.0 up and also having a returning Chris Wood goal chopped off, it looked like another long night for Spurs and Ange Postecoglou.

After escaping relegation last season, Nuno Espírito Santo has his Forest team well structured and playing a fast attractive counter attacking football. The key to Forest form this season has to go down to the solid defence of Murillo and Milenković who have formed a solid no nonsense approach with only Liverpool and Arsenal having the stronger defence record in the league this season tells you everything about this partnership. Chris Wood returned to the Forest line up having not scored in his last 5 games for Forest. His goal last night takes his goal tally to 19 league goals for the season. A player reformed this season under Nuno.

With 5 games remaining can this Forest team go and continue their push for Champions League football and bring back the glory days to The City Ground and make history once again for the former European Champions.
